I started woodworking shortly after I bought my first home. Like many woodworkers today I was doing the typical DIY stuff when I realized that maybe I could make some furniture. At the same time I inheirited some great tools from my wife’s grandfather who was a carpenter. I was honored and took it upon myself to learn how to use all these new and exciting tools.

bkgrndamboyna.jpgThis hobby has turned into an obsession and I have grown an interest in every style of woodworking: turning, carving, furniture design, period furniture, etc. It is this reason that I call myself the Renaissance Woodworker. I am into just about everything like DaVinci. Of course my wife says that I have ADD instead.

I have been making things and giving them as gifts for many years. Many of those “customers” have come back to me asking for me and willing to pay for it. I also got the inevitable question, “what is your web site?”. From there Rogers Fine Woodworking was born. Considering that I have learned so much from the blogosphere I figured I would give this blogging thing a try as well and hence the birth of The Renaissance Woodworker.
